Even though the band broke up in 1997, they had a decent career. SoundGarden came out of Seattle in the late '80s early '90s. So their music is often given the label of "Grunge". Members of the band had loads of talent and had side projects and careers outside of the band. Band members included:
Chris Cornell-Vocals
Chris has one of the most amazing voices ever. Outside of SoundGarden, he released a solo album, worked on the Temple of the Dog cd, and now sings for Audioslave. He also wrote most of the songs for the band. Kim Thayil-Guitar
Kim is an average guitarist that played in a great band.
Ben Shepherd-Bass
Ben replaced Hiro Yamamoto on bass guitar in 1991. Ben wrote some memorable songs for the band.
Matt Cameron-Drums
Matt is one of the greatest drummers ever. Outside of SoundGarden he has his own band called Wellwater Conspiracy. In 1998 he started touring with Pearl Jam and recorded with them on their next two albums and is currently a full time member of the band.

SoundGarden released the following albums:
Screaming Life-1987
Ultramega OK-1988
Louder Than Love-1989
Badmotorfinger-1991
Superunknown-1994
Down On The Upside-1996
A-Sides-1997
